Latin America

Why should we care that there is a Latin speaker at HDE?

Euphoria by one of the most anticipated within electronic music events is at the top, as the bombing of news and videos related to the great event that brings together both conferences and concerts and production classes taught by your favorite DJs and Top 100 DJs , has started.

Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) It is the perfect place to learn some tricks of production and above all to share and show how they are living the culture of electronic music worldwide place. But as ADE is, it is also Hard Dance Event (HDE), A space (as many of you already know) ADE includes the same subject (conferences, production classes, interviews, etc.) but for the scene hard.

In an idle moment, I decided to go to see the conferences and events HDE had prepared for this year. Hoping to find a panel focused on the Latin American scene through my body, it was logical that if I had walked Defqon.1 Latin lands obviously going to be someone talking about it. Clearly my disappointment was enormous when not finding a single conference focused on Latin America. You may think I'm exaggerating but the reality is that this is worrying, more so because there is a panel called "Hard Is Everywhere" and none of the customers are Latino.

All of this (along with enormous sadness) made me wonder where that idea of "inclusion" was that has always existed within the global hard scene. It's not like only North America (who are invited to the event) have something to say about the scene, Where is Latin America, especially when ADE last year included a focus on the electronic scene in Latin America panel? Why is there a Chilean panelist talking about what is happening in Chile for hard dance? Have you reviewed the proposals that some Latino media had made to join the conference? not clearly, especially when our friend and editor filled a form in which they self suggested to be part of a panel with Villain and Wildstylez in which the subject of Chile touched.

So there are two: these proposals are not taken into account because: a) there are many or b) there is no one on the other side debugged topics. Finally, large within the industry before the others.

It is assumed that this event is to include, show and innovate on issues related to the different global scenes, ADE has already done, why HDE not?

Anyway, we hope in the future that Latin America has its own voice in ADE / HDE.
